Black gay boys
So I put the project down for a couple of years. When I picked it back up, my inspiration was to focus more on the ideas of the project than the imagery. Early entries in the series featured interviews with couples, as well as images of models caring for one another in the world.
For Black gay men, that journey is often layered, nuanced, and shaped by a unique intersection of race, sexuality, and culture. After we finished shooting and were walking, she had to say something very smart about the Bible, so we turned around and politely told her about herself.
